Job Description The University of Montana Foundation is an independent 501 (c)(3) organization that serves as the fundraising arm of The University of Montana and is located on the beautiful Missoula campus. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced professional with vision to lead our marketing and communications effort. The Vice President will manage components of the organization related to outreach, annual giving, stewardship and donor relations and will serve as a member of our executive management team. The Vice President for Marketing and Communications reports directly to the President and CEO.
The responsibilities of this new position include:
• Strengthen the UMF brand by using creative and proven marketing and communications strategies while integrating efforts with The University of Montana’s outreach programs.
• Articulate the mission and activities of the UM Foundation for both internal and external audiences with a specific focus on the impact of private philanthropy on the University.
• Oversee the design and production of the UM Foundation’s website and publications, ensuring their quality, timeliness and consistency with established strategies.
• Oversee the planning and execution of UM Foundation development and Board events.
• Oversee a complex prospect tracking and research department.
• Oversee proposal coordination for corporations and foundations.
• Oversee the annual giving program and increase its efficacy by applying sophisticated and modern marketing strategies.
• Develop a comprehensive stewardship program that ensures integration of strategic communication and donor relations with all campus partners.
The Vice President will establish marketing priorities and allocate resources accordingly. Through collaborative work with executive management staff, will ensure that marketing and communication activities are integrated with fundraising efforts and support the overall mission of the UM Foundation and The University of Montana.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, although an advanced degree is preferred A minimum of five years experience in marketing, communications, public relations, annual giving or other related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
