Preferred Experience:
A minimum of at least five (5) years experience in executive management in the nonprofit sector, preferably in the Head Start area; graduate degree in Social Services, or related fields; experience in the child welfare field; successful grant writing and fund-raising experience; demonstrated leadership experience; strong public relations skills, effective communication skills and aggressive public advocacy skills; experience in budgeting and internal controls. Duties/Responsibilities:
The President/CEO has oversight over and full responsibility for agency programs and daily business operations, including maintaining annual agency budget of over $4 million dollars, and planning, directing, implementing, and administering the Head Start Program. The President/CEO also has responsibility for the agency’s staff, compliance with government (federal and state) regulations and contractual agreements, program operations, program planning, program development, day-to-day administration of agency, preparation of grants, fund-raising, student enrollment, and community relations.
